It started with upcycling old furniture using chalk paint and loving how I could manipulate colors with a few simple strokes. Somehow, it's evolved into doing abstracty landscapes, flowers and stuff. And, I am completely self taught and motivated. I've only been painting for about 6 months, now, so I'm still developing and moving into a "style".
I tend to stick with acrylics. I love how versatile acrylics can be, depending on how much water is added and what tool is used. It's fun using crinkled up foil, a sponge, or a pallet knife to add unique and interesting texture and depth.
My inspiration comes from...well...EVERYTHING! But, having said that, my favorite source of inspiration is found in what the universe provides. Whether it's a brilliant pink and orange ocean sunset ; a snowy day in Ohio; a walk through the park with my dog; or how many shades of green grass can be, there is awe and inspiration to be had.
